Beautiful Things

is holding a blood contest, where you needed to draw what you see when you think of blood. I guess I'm unoriginal, but I just thought of blood. Tried to be creative in my delivery though. To me blood in art should be more beautiful and meaningful than as a prop to gore, so I tried to portray that here.

If you can't read the script, it says:
"Behind every beautiful thing, there's some kind of pain."

I added a mature warning due to the presence of blood even though it's not that bad. Better safe than sorry.

Of course, I also made this picture as part of the 100 theme challenge because Number 17 is Blood and, well... how could I resist?

Time: Roughly 3 Hours
Thoughts: One of these days I'll learn how make my shading smooth. Though I'm starting to think I may need a new set of pencils. Not really happy with the direction of the blood, but I do like the way the color turned out. One of my better roses and hands. So REALLY proud of this one. Even if it does remind me a bit of a tattoo.
