This is the gift that I created for the
Secret Santa Exchange.
My job was to create a gift for
from a
wishlist that they created.
I chose to draw their character
Shiro. I wanted to keep this in an anime style as much as I could, though it ended up more as a semi-realism which I kind of like. I also want to say sorry for any variations from the original character that may have occurred, whether accidental or intentional. And I really hope that ~
khyddinamaani likes it.
I also made this as part of my
100 theme challenge. This one is for Number 8: Innocence.
I choose to not make this into a print as it doesn't really fit the level of quality that I want to identify myself with. I may reconsider this should I receive enough print requests.

Artist Notes:Media: Derwent 4H Graphite Pencil on Sketch Paper
Time: Roughly an hour and a half
Thoughts: Decided to try out an anime style and ended up pretty satisfied with the semi-realism that resulted. I may play with this style a bit more in the future. I feel like her hands may have ended up too big, especially the left one, but I don't think it looks bad, just that I need to pay more attention to it in the future. The snowflake is definitely too big and I had hoped to make it smaller, but it just wasn't working with the detail that I wanted in it. I also wish I would have skewed the perspective on it a bit so it was facing her more than the viewer. It ended up a little rushed and sketchy, but overall, I enjoy the piece and I hope everyone else does too.
Scan: The scan this time was decent but I think I may have made the resolution too big because it took like an hour just to finish scanning.
