Frozen by NicolasRaine Frozen by NicolasRaine
Tell me I'm frozen but what can I do?
Can't tell the reasons I did it for you
When lies turn into truth I sacrificed for you
You say that I'm frozen but what can I do?
Everything will slip away
Shattered peaces will remain
When memories fade into emptiness
Only time will tell its tale
If it all has been in vain

Created this piece for the Jolly Winter - Frozen Contest. They gave us the lyrics from Within Temptation from above as inspiration and it very much was my inspiration for this piece. I also created this for my 100 theme challenge, so this one is for #84 - Out Cold.

100 Theme ChallengeDate Started: Thursday, April 28th, 2012
So, yesterday I came home and saw that my good friend, ~wistful-moon was coloring on her tablet. Upon closer inspection I realized she was making a picture for the first theme in the 100 theme challenge, Introduction. I watched her complete it and it really put me in the mood to draw so I was excited to hear that she was going to do another before going to sleep. So I grabbed my sketchbook and joined her. So, once again I am working on the 100 theme challenge and I will be creating all new deviations to submit for it. And, for the love of god, I WILL get through it this time. Once again I will be putting up links to any deviations I know of for people doing the challenge so if you want to participate, just let me know and I will add your submissions to my list. The rules are: You may post ANY type of creative piece for any theme in this challenge. It does not matter what (traditional, digital, sculpture, literature, etc),

I'm leaving it up to you to interpret this one as you wish. But in case it is difficult to tell, those are whole and broken ornaments on the ground and ice next to her. It was a requirement to have a Christmas decoration somewhere in the piece.

Artist Notes:
Media: Derwent Medium Graphite Pencils on Sketch Paper
Time: Roughly 7 Hours

The actual ground is too dark and I should have put more ornaments in the dirt. And the ice doesn't quite feel like ice despite the hour and a half I spent on it. But I've never been good at backgrounds and I know it, The only reason I continue to include them is because I WANT to be better at them.

The actual girl, though, is one of my favorite works so far. Really proud of the way she turned out.
